I just tried this, and I was able to copy my save files to usb. I tested everything I have: "DI Riptide Profile Settings", an actual character/game save, and the "save game index file". Teepo64 posted The last game of Dead Island (PS3) wouldn't let you copy your data into a USB stick. I know the Dead Island on 360 version lets you.
It even allows you to SAVE your Inventory, skills, collectibles, and game progress albeit pretty poorly and import them into your new save. Doesn't save mission completion (don't care), money (manually entered + DIDE is like Riptide with loadsamoney), level (manually entered), and time played (RIP). #8.
